Idea [I] CMYK and Contrasting Colors

Do your advertisement pieces look flat and bland?  Try a trick that has been gaining popularity in the graphical industry of increasing the contrast on your logos to bring out the brighter colors.  Increase the contrast by maybe 5 to 20 in Adobe Photoshop CS2, if you go any higher than this you might want to bring the brightness down so you don't glare out your audience.  Mess around with these features and see what works best for your logos.

If you are working on online advertisement pieces make sure to use 3 color RGB settings, but if you are printing brochures and newsletters be sure that your settings are set at 4 color CMYK for the best print results.

    BORING COLORS LOSE!
Another trick to consider is to change your photos to grayscale and then back to 3 color or 4 color depending on what you are designing for (i.e. web or print material).  Try "photo filtering" this image after converting back to a solid color and increasing to its full capacity to get the look below:

Yellow Photo Filter -10 Brightness and +20 Contrast
